TSF Academy Target NJYS State Cup Glory

This weekend TSF Academy U15 Boys 'Ginga' and TSF Academy U16 Boys 'Diablos' both target State Cup Championships at the Wall Soccer Complex.

The TSF Academy U15 'Ginga' (now ranked #1 in NJ) progressed to the Semi-Finals, where they will play Washington United Bulldogs, with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Princeton Premier. Although the visiting team managed to stay very organized and defend well up until midway through the second half, it was only a matter of time until the 'Ginga' who dominated possession for the entire game managed to break down the resistance and take complete control of the game with a goal from Luis Mendoza after some patient build up play, followed up by an own goal after a well-worked free-kick was fired across the penalty box.

The TSF Academy U16 'Diablos' secured their place in the Semi-Finals with an impressive 3-2 victory away at Ironbound Inter. After conceding early on to a corner, the Diablos showed fantastic resolve and character to come back and go 3-1 up with an excellent team goal finished off by Steven Zamudio, one by Teddy Forson and then a composed lob from Fabian Gonzalez on a break-away. A late penalty-kick from Ironbound with 6 minutes to go made for a tense finale but the 'Diablos' comfortably dealt with any threat to secure their place to face Jersey United Spartans Blue on Saturday.

We wish both teams all the best this weekend in their pursuit for the NJYS National Championship State Cup.
